Hello I’m Stacey!

I’m a self taught and self learned photographer. I started my photography journey four years ago while living in Okinawa, Japan. The island was so beautiful, at the time my younger sister was a photographer and had just upgraded her camera so she give me her’s old camera, Canon 60D.  I start playing with it and fell in love with photography. My work has been published in magazine and picked in top 10 in Digital fine art.

I am a stay home wife and mom so I do photography full time. With the support of my lovely husband, Hue and three kids, Logan, Lana, and Hope are my biggest fan. I  am currently locate in Brooklyn Center, MN. We are a military family so I do move every three years. I love that I get to meet new people all the time.

HMONDERN X FASHION

Fresh Traditions Fashion Show is a culturally inspired fashion event which exhibits the creativity, originality and quality of work by Hmong fashion designers.

Fresh Traditions Fashion Show is a program of the Center for Hmong Arts and Talent.

The history of Hmong art is rooted and sewn into the fabrics of traditional Hmong clothing where the unique combination of vibrant colors and textures makes the Hmong identifiable. Fresh Traditions was created in 2006 as a result of the increasing interest in the fashion industry by Hmong artists. This one of a kind fundraiser event features all Hmong designers who have complete creative control over their designs but one challenge – each designer is required to create one outfit using fabrics in traditional Hmong clothing.

PERFORMANCES OF THE NIGHT!

“Our primary purpose is to preserve the Hmong culture, recruit and unify students at Minnesota State University, Mankato, remain in contact with other multicultural communities and encourage the students from other schools to come to this university. To serve as an emotional and academic support group for the Hmong Student Association members.” -HMONG STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The non-profit student run organization call Hmong Student Association (HSA) spends approximately half a year to plan for their annual event Hmong Culture Day. The annual show started way back in 1985-present.

“In my ten years attending this has got to be the best show I had ever seen.” -Counselor Compton

We came together not to benefit ourselves but hope to help decrease the burden on the Hmong community in Mankato. We also want to help the new diverse freshmen to have a better transitioning to college considering that most of the students are 1st generation college students.
